Is It Normal For My Heat Plates To Open Overnight?

It is totally normal for the plates to separate or open overnight, it would only be an issue if they were opening within  a 10-15 minute window. Make sure that the unit is being stored with the release valve in the full closed position and never open release valve more then a 1/2 a turn.
