Is It Common For My Heat Plates To Separate When Not In Use?

It would be normal for the plates to separate overnight, it would only be an issue if they were separating within a 10-15 minute period and is a sign that your unit needs to be bled as it likely has air trapped in the unit. (Please see how to bleed video instructions here)
